Artist Statement

Samantha Becker is a Rhode Island artist who paints still lifes and interior scenes often including universal objects and textiles that imply interconnectedness intrinsic to the life experience. Her works conjure a sense of home, of warmth and connection through the representation of and feelings associated with the familiar (a tablecloth, a bowl, an orange). Use of color, pattern and play guide her creative process. Media include oil paint, acrylic paint and collage.
